  • Standing on top of Mt Whitney, the highest point in the continental United State, I realized what a juxtaposition my life was at that moment. I was literally standing on the top of the world while inside I was at the bottom of a well, one that I wasn't sure I was going to be able to climb out of.

I am a strong girl, always standing up for what is right, fighting till the death. How I wound up a position of helplessness and defeat is still a mystery to me. Was it my pride that put me there? Whatever the cause, it was standing there in the serenity of that moment on top of the world that gave me the courage to take my life back.
