  • While my husband and I lived and traveled in Africa we often photographed lions.

This lion we photographed extensively. On all my husband´s photographs this lion appears fierce and wild, just as a lion should. But on all of mine he seems to smile, even laugh to himself.

I did not notice this while I was photographing him. Photographing a lion from a jeep close to him always lets my heart beat faster, I was infused with deep and fearful respect.

But when I checked out my photographs afterwards the lion was in a happy mood in all of the shots I took of him!

    I was and am intrigued.

    Does this lion laugh
    at a funny giraffe?
Does he laugh about his life?
    Or his wife?

He did not laugh at my man...
    No, ghee -
    I now get it:
    he obviously
    laughed at
