  • OH so you are a writer, what do you write? How many of us have been asked this sort of...disturbing and a little puzzling question.Perhaps many have become used to it for human nature does get used to talk which sometimes seems silly but one gets to hear it...'Oh well, poetry and sometimes articles'
'About?' Don't people know what poems are on or about? Poetry is about anything and everything.I remember on our way back from the afternoon session on the second day of the Poetry Convention, one and only I have ever attended...because it was held in Washington USA in the year 2000 and I spent all my savings then to be there...I am glad that I did for then came 2001 and everything changed ...while waiting in the shuttle bus an american lady, a poetess appreciated the Pakistani white lace dress my daughter was wearing.'Can we get this type of cloth here?'
Well I could arrange to send you some length when I return home to Pakistan'
'OH really that would be nice'.The conversation went on for a while, addresses were exchanged and then a remark made everyone laugh and kept many in the bus smiling all the way to the hotel' One poetess said 'write a poem about it, you like it so much'. I guess that gives me some consolation that writing poetry is good work and is useful for people.Poetry is enjoyable, entertaining and makes one relax.
I am a poet I know for I find it easy to write. No time restriction, no special rules to follow and no one to read but yourself....OH this is the sad part, but I guess it depends...
I know myself' this phrase set me thinking because I have to make a Herculean effort to write on a technical topic and I hear myself saying...'creative writing is my line' but does that help one to write something worthwhile? All useful write ups are different and sometimes so difficult to understand...I wish I could write like Hans Christian or something magical like J K Rowling...but ...perhaps I will one day....I know myself...will I
