  • The Sisters of Saint Joseph no longer wear the habit we remember with the words, "Climb every mountain, ford every stream, follow every rainbow, till you find your dream, a dream that will mean all the love you can give, everyday of your life, for as long as you live...," one of the songs in The Sound of Music. Be that as it may, they do have the habit of humour. Yes, they are habitually funny.

One day Sr Mary Joan (Debra) was climbing the stairs at St Mary's. Feeling her age with each step, she said to Sr Eleanor,
"If there are stairs in Heaven, I'm leaving!"

Just to be funny, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin on Youtube - music muted just for Debra who says of some of today's music: "It makes me feel as if I should be running around bashing my head against the walls!"
