  • The Games our mind plays on us !! We want it to be
under our control and the moment we think it is so,we
find that we are mistaken in thinking so.
Memories flit in and out at their own free will.We are not
even aware that they have always been in some corner
    of our mind :))
A person or a thing or an event bring back some forgotten
memory. Those memories become alive again. We remember
them so vividly, down to the last seemingly insignificant detail.
    It is really surprising.
Time and space are no barriers to our memories. One memory
leads back to another and yet another. When we sit back and
think about the sequence of our memories, it is remarkable.
Then, same people, the same place, the same time and same
episode, but the memories of each person involved is so
very different that we wonder if we are talking about the
    same thing !!
A few days ago,I read this English translation of an Urdu
couplet in Kushwant Singh’s column in the Deccan Herald.
    I liked it very much.

    ‘Last night your memory
    stole back into my mind
    Like spring comes
    silently into the desert
    As the soft morning breeze
    begins to blow
    As one sick beyond hope
    Hope begins to glow’.
