  • The problem won't be solved by not-for-profits who claim to have the facts. The problem won't be solved by some magical wave of the arm, or by the 'bread and circuses' approach the government takes to misdirect attention from the problem. The problem with American politics is Americans.

When was the last time you got together with your neighbors and discussed who is running for City Council, Congress, the Senate, or the Presidency? When was the last time you invited the neighbors in for a glass of tea, cup of coffee, or a beer? When was the last time you spoke to your neighbor?

Go ahead, hem and haw a bit, scratch the dirt with your toe or look up at the ceiling and think about that crack you've been meaning to fix when you get around to it. Go ahead, complain about the price of fuel or the price of food, and conclude with "There's nothing I can do about it.". Go ahead, remain afraid of your neighbors, because the media tells you about shootings in Aurora and in New York and monsters who rape and kill and maim. Go ahead, believe the lie.

Yes, there are bad people in the world. BUT THEY ARE THE MINORITY! Decent, hard-working, law abiding citizens are the majority in this world, people.

We are the people who only want a decent place to live, a place to raise our children without fear of them being harmed, a place where we can make a life and expect the life of our children to be better. But we cannot expect to have these things if we continue to allow the government and the media to infect us with lies and fear.

The government does not want you to unite. As long as you are separate, you pose no threat to them, especially when you have given them permission to restrict your rights.

We need to shift your thinking to hope. Not the false hope of the Obama campaign, not the promised hope of the Republicans. The alternatives are out there. The Libertarians have presented a candidate worth looking into, and their agenda is at least a step in the right direction. It isn't perfect, but its better than the alternative.

Or find an alternative candidate who will honestly attempt to serve this nation. Hell, I was half tongue in cheek when I announced my candidacy, but with any amount of serious support, I would welcome the job. My primary platform item would be the imposition of term limits to every elected office to eliminate that vile, contemptible creature known as a Career Politician. The founders of this country realized such a man or woman is nothing more than a con artist interested only in stuffing his pockets at the expense of the people.

Money is the government? Only if we allow it to be. It is up to the people of the United States to take a stand and say ENOUGH! with their votes.

Or they can continue to think their vote doesn't matter.
