  • Writers, artists, actors, musicians have all come to Enniskillen this week to display their talents in the castle, Portora School, Blakes of the Hollow, and Portora Royal School where Beckett was a student.

I can't afford to see all the plays and concerts, but I'm going to see three novelists, Tim Parks, Pauline McLynn and Carlo Gebler, discuss their take on Becket tomorrow night.

This afternoon I appeared in the fringe 'New Writing Shorts' open mic session

I was the forth person to read. I think I did OK. I read as slowly as possible and managed not to fall off the step ladder that led up to the truck, our stage. I think it is important to read in public and hear my poems with a different perspective over the mic.

I had fun, but I am glad its over.
