  • Andrea: Unhappy is the land that breeds no hero.
Galileo: No, Andrea: Unhappy is the land that needs a hero.

Bertolt Brecht, Life of Galileo (1938), Scene 12, p. 115

Sitting here thinking of something clever to say. Somehow, I guess this all hits too close to home.

The people of the United States are looking for a hero to save them from this horrible state we are in. The people of the world are looking for a hero to stop the wars, end the economic crisis, and teach us to live in harmony. It seems we are always looking for someone else to rise up and do the work for us.

Deep inside, we know, WE KNOW, the only heroes we need are ourselves.
