  • "This is how I shave.", Phil joked.

We were in the midst of a Pad Thai-cooking session. Part of the recipe called for six eggs to be mixed with 1/4 tablespoon of table salt.

"Don't bother looking for forks, I've got an egg beater."
"Whoa!", I said. "Can I get your photo holding it?"
"Yes.", Phil is used to this.

Mom called at one point. We talked to Trevor. Amani dropped by and made some delicious tea (Earl Grey). Anna and Helen, two couch-surfers from Germany stopped by and I asked them lots of questions. Ran into Kiel twice, which was great. He was well-dressed as always. Some people have that knack of always being presentable. Mom tried to instill this sense into me.

There are some very basic things that I struggle with. But sharing comfortable silences and good conversations aren't in that category. For this, I am grateful. There is lots to say to people. But just as important as the words are the gaps in between them. I know this.
