  • I remember my first adventure
    five or six years old
there was a very steep hill,
    we would go up,
    with bicycles, wagons,
    a cardboard sled,
    we'd go down...fast.
    Later skateboards,
    just a plank
    with metal wheels
    down Suicide Hill
    in Long Beach, California
    then surfboards,
off Seal Beach, Zuma, and Big Sur.
Off roading in a 4 wheel drive
    on slippery slopes
    Hang Gliding off Black's Beach
    a back seat ride in an F-4, A-4, F-14,
    off limits trips to Macau,
and the seedy side of Hong Kong,
    down the alleys of Wanchai,
    along the rooftops,
    back streets of Singapore,
snowboard down the slopes at 52.
    Adrenaline is such a rush,
the problem is you act before you think.
At 60, point me toward the roller coasters,
fast cars at 100+ miles per hour,
    a parachute or bucking bronco...
    I'll go. I know I will.
I wonder if they still shoot clowns from cannons?
