  • Last night I dreamed that I pulled a tooth from my mouth. The tooth was a vibrant gemstone of green and purple. In the dream, I talked with someone standing next to me who asked if it was a baby tooth. I said no, it was an adult tooth and I was surprised that it pulled out so easily.

We continued to talk about the tooth for awhile and it felt weird not having the tooth in my mouth but I wasn't sad or stressed.

When I woke up from the dream, I did research into the tooth and the colors. It is the first time in my life that I dreamed about a tooth so I wanted to know what it meant and according to the dream symbols it could mean many things.

Leaving the computer, I walked to the window and opened the blinds to see what last nights storm had done to the apple tree. Looking at my backyard, I saw that there was something wrong with one of my other trees. A plum tree was ripped out of the ground. Her roots hovered over the earth and she was being held up by the apple tree.

The plum tree matched the tooth in my dream. She is filled with green leaves and purple plums and she was pulled out of the earth like the tooth pulled out of my mouth. Easily.

Sitting in a chair on the patio, I looked at the tree and wondered if the dream was about the tree or, if the tree is emphasizing the point of the dream.

The tree is still filled with life. She is filled with fruit that caused her to be ripped from the ground. She is alive but will not live long because now she is a danger to my child, neighbors and the other trees. She will be removed from my garden.

The tree was unable to bend with the wind and weather the storm. She could not let go but I will let go of her.

I'm seeing the dream as an observation of something in my life. something valuable because the tooth was a gemstone but something I do not want replaced as i feel the loss but am in no hurry to have a new tooth inserted. I feel the emptiness.

When I remove the tree from the garden, I will leave the space empty for awhile. I will feel the emptiness left by this twisted plum tree before replacing it with something new.
