  • Which one are we?

Are we women the lip-dripping vamp, the vixen, the siren, the blood on the white face, the kohl-rimmed eye? Nothing but trouble, nothing but a lip-stained corpse?

Or: are we the demure curled but not too much, waves in place buttoned-in neck and in manner dame, the duchess of demure, the secret smiler of a Vermeer?

Do we hold the secret in our off-colour blooms, or do we hold the secret in our kitchen yellow rooms?

Is it the sunshine through the windows we bring, or do we bring the shadow of the investigating detective of the dark garden of our womanhood?
