  • We'd been funding each other's films on twitter and my reward from Sean Gillane's project CXLwas an awesome 'high five in the mail' that came in the summer and which I'd photographed to tweet.

Yesterday, I woke up covered from head to foot in hives.. it seems I've had a reaction to whatever lovely virus type thing I've come down with and by today it was very bad.. I know this because the doctor said the words 'very bad' seven times before giving me massive antibiotics, antihistamines and strict instructions not to do anything and to only get up from a sitting position very slowly so I don't pass out. (Something that's happened twice in the last 24hrs and is a little unnerving when you live alone as I do.)

As I cancelled my theatre plans for tomorrow and moped about waiting for the drugs to take effect, looking like some kind of antichrist character with an angry red face and feeling too ill to read properly or do much but randomly flick through photos on my computer feeling very sorry for myself, the photo of the high five from across the ocean had somehow been stored in several places and there it was everywhere I turned, staring at me, like a sign that everything was going to be cool. And so it is.
