  • Back in the 1970's I lived for ski touring. While still living in Boulder CO I also visiting friends in WY often, the snow in both states is great and fun - if you liked to ski that is!

My visits to WY were often to go to Jackson Hole WY with some close friends of mine (musicians) when they played a week long gig at the Mangy Moose.

I would leave the bar at midnight and go back to the nice condo we had to stay in ... and get some sleep so I could ski in the morning ... and the afternoon. My friends played music until 2 AM, and got back to the place about 4 AM - so they slept until Noon.

It was always fun to spend time together - so one day I talked a few of the guys into renting skis and boots etc. to come out for some fun in the sun with me.

Almost 40 years later, I am sure not one of them have much to say that is nice about that day. It got cold, and the sun was hiding! The trail got iced up some places.

Well this pictures has alway made me laugh. It's true many musicians do not dance much - and ski touring is for dancing on snow --- What can I say?
