  • Subtitle: Tents and Stars and Tonto?

While on route to Sydney, Australia for a week of rest and relaxation, I had occasion to be on deck at night. There in the darkness of the ocean, with a clear sky above, I could see with clarity the Magellanic clouds.

Somehow, I just don't believe anyone ashore has ever shared this magnificence. When you are in deep ocean, there are no extraneous lights of cities or atmospheric aberrations, such as smog, to interfere with the sight.

I was blessed to be out at sea many times to view these 'clouds' of stars that literally blanket the sky.

If they could see them in the American west, I do believe Tonto would have taken a few minutes to realize the tent was missing.

Me, I just laid back in the deck of the captain's gig and enjoyed the view.
