  • Brownie was a special kitty. She adopted me! I remember when I brought her home, Justin and Raoul (and the other cats) simply hated her at first sight. She wasn't a beautiful cat by any means, all tortoise shell and tiny. But I told them that she wanted to come home with me and she was going to be my cat. You see, Pepe and I had been visiting with Chino and suddenly the weather turned bad and Pepe said he had to run. So, he was going to give me a ride back home and as we were leaving, Chino said, "I have a plate of brownies for you to give to Justin." So, I took the paper plate covered with plastic wrap and stood by the passenger side of the car as Pepe went to unlock it. The sky was getting darker by the second and fat drops of rain were beginning to fall. Just as Pepe unlocked the door, I looked down and between my feet was this little ball of fur. I was completely shocked and I leaned down and picked up this tiny kitty and showed Pepe. He said it was probably one of the many strays that live around the apartment building. I thought if I put it back, it would surely die. So, I brought her home. And she was named after that plate of brownies. I miss her so much sometimes.
