  • Irish people are very friendly, specially the elderly ones. They always come to you to talk, and the 'hello phrase" is "It is cold / or warm today, isn't? The weather is the ice breaker subject.
    John is 77 and love talk to me and show me pictures after the church service. He talks way too much. He has loads of stories and give me details of all of them.
    Last week, he told me about his marriage. They are together for 59 years, will be 60 in next January.
    I was very curious to know how they made this relationship work out. He answered they need lots of patience. After years, they know love is about friendship
    At the end of the conversation, I realised that a bit of criativity is crucial as well.
    Since when they got married, every time they fight the one who wanted to say sorry gives one apple to the other. Then, as long he gets an apple from his wife or vice versa, they know everything was forgiven and they were in peace again.
    Small act that replaces words which most of time are so hard to be said.
    Love does exist, people just misunderstood what it means.
