  • Alan is a farmer and a doctor living at the foot of Mount Timpanogos in Utah. I spotted him driving his small tractor through the rows of his vineyard and waited around for him to kill the engine for a few. He told me the farm has been in the family for some time now and he's been running up, down and between these grapevines since he was old enough to stand. About a minute into the conversation he hit me with the above audio.

There is a sure pleasure in meeting someone who knows and lives what they believe and seems to possess some peace as a result. After he rolled off i stayed for a bit longer and on his next pass he threw me a clump of grapes and a small apple, both freshly picked. I ate them as i considered his words for a few more minutes. I walked away full and fine.
