  • Shall we leave then for the shoreline?
Spend the rest of it, seaside
till it’s tide? A little longer,
inhale again the thrust of it
    outcropping vestige of
    terns, the circling terns
    shall we leave?

Shall we go let it all be other?
Time too dear, a waltz love
    tomorrow today in disguise,
    tracing at every waterline
    a place we've left behind.
    Nearer to now I’ll nestle
abide till it's time to go home.

What if two toward the seaside
tied what's left of it to stone?
Safe in numbers, not quite alone
    till it’s tide, ascending slow
    lingering there
    the stones going under,
    the salty slumber
    the wavy spell.
