  • I got up yesterday morning and wanted to go for a swim. So at about 6:30 am I put on my swimsuit and I walk to the community pool. I’m the only one up, it seems, and it’s rather a crisp summer morning. As I unlock the gate, I see the steam raising up over the water and the ethereal Eucalyptus trees blocking the sun on its rise reflecting back into the pool. It was one of those moments that sticks with you for days. So I pulled the bathing cap on, and slowly waded out into the center of the pool and thought, I should take a picture from here.

So, looking like a plucked chicken I leave the pool and find my phone and took a snapshot. Yes, from the middle of the pool, from where I watched the sunrise, knowing if I dropped my phone, I’d be in a pickle. But the image was well worth it.
