  • It's true, when we get to August we find out that the plants cannot imagine winter. They grow and entangle each other as though they think they can go on forever. Walk into your garden, walk in the woods and you see signs of giddiness, of total lack of foresight. I cannot blame them, but neither can I tell them to stop being so self-absorbed.
