  • Rambutan, or hairy fruit, is a seasonal fruit abundant in the South East Asia. The red or yellow exterior covered with fine hair hides a sweet and juicy treasure. It is akin to the lychee or the longan in that the delicious flesh coats a seed that, under the right condition, will sprout another fruit bearing tree.

This arrangement was made to decorate the table where the bride and groom were served their lunch at my great nephew's wedding. I was so astonished that they had come up with this arrangement, which is a first for me. It is not uncommon to decorate the table with carved watermelon, but this is really amazing.

Needless to say it was plucked clean by the end of the wedding celebration.
