  • Sitting reading stories, and I think about the decisive moment prompt I often lead students in,
and how many moments have been decisive for me in summer.

    First kiss that mattered.

    Yeh. Summer.

    First uh, time, yeh, summer.

    Met First wife.

    Married Second Wife.

    Father Died.

    Brother Died.

Started my current job, okay, my first day at the non profit I still run 29 years later.

    Summer.

And at least 55 vacations of some sort, breaks in the normative, other places, other ways of paying attention.

Lots of fondness, with fond people, fondly finding friendship.

    Other events just as critical,
    not as mentionable,
    good, bad,
    and ugly.

It's 25% of the year, but we work it pretty well,
we tend to plan most of the excitement for summer.

This summer I feel alive as ever.

Trying as hard as I can to stay here in the warm days.

    The Fall comes later.
