  • There used to be a mobile home here by the creek but we lost it in the flood.

    February of last year, us as well as 18 other people up and down the creek got effected. They just lost everything. So I had kind of started to look for resources, to see what the tribe had and if anybody had any sort of resources, and every door was closed.

    That spurred us to get started with building houses, with the hay bale. My brother says, these HUD houses are shelter, but they don't feel like they belong to us. To build a house though builds a spirit, too.
