  • "Why is there a dog sitting on your tummy?"

I laid on the massage table, choking back the tears, terrified of the question. My Reiki Master looked at me strangely, as I smiled.

    "Why is she licking everything?"

The tears released in a torrent of grief. Or was it relief? I burst out laughing!

"She is still with you, she wants to know you will be okay."

My friend, my love, my teacher. I miss you. I will be okay.

Go and explore the new places, someday we will walk them together.

When I took this photo, I experienced the bittersweet pangs of knowing- that her time was limited with me. She was slowing down, she was not as agile, she was in some discomfort. She looked over this ridge, longing to race down the other side, yet full of the pain and fatigue that made it too much of an effort to try. She was such a wonderful friend. She was patient and lovely. She was my everything.
