  • Oh, Istanbul. I went to Istanbul for the first time in 2009. I was 18 and had just finished my freshman year of college in Rome. I had gotten used to a feeling of loneliness since being in Rome. But as I walked through out Istanbul, alone, without knowing a single soul, I didn't feel a shred of loneliness. The architecture, the lights, the food, the people. I didn't feel lonely at all.
