  • It had been coming for a while, and then suddenly it happened. My daughter moved out of home and into a new life. I was happy for her and did not try to hold her back but when it happened it caught me a bit by surprise. Now instead of calling out that dinner is ready I have to invite her to dinner, or she invites herself if she is feeling in need of a good meal.

It is still a great relationship and I am happy for her. But something momentous in our relationship has changed, and I am still trying to work out what it is.
