  • While we were lying on the granite rock by the river, with the night, like tar, so dark, a blackboard, full of chalky stars, you shared with me, your story, your addiction, the methamphetamine, alcohol, and the grisly tales of needles jabbed into testicles, eyeballs, rectum, and other unsavory flesh.

We are so far from that world, the city, with its screaming billboards, the colony of corporate colors, Starbuck Green, Coca-Cola Red, Exxon Blue, trademark colors, that make the eyes bleed for mercy, how did the world become so ugly, with cinderblocks, asphalts, and plastic bottles, littered like frozen jellyfish, the stink of car exhausts…oh dear, oh dear.

But here in this wilderness, I succumb to the delirium of floating inside a womb of such immaculate perfection, the dragonflies shimmering, rusty red and powder blue, the vernal mountain, the viridian river, today, when we swam in these waters, that are green, green, like mint tea, I dreamt amphibious dreams, squiggling, like tadpoles, i reincarnated myself, i became fish-man-frog, here, I never have problems, i have gills, you will never catch me.
