  • We were playing Star Wars Monopoly after a walk down to the store for candy and beer and dark chocolate. I was only on my second beer, but the combination of sugar and alcohol had already caused my energy level to be higher than normal and my tongue looser. And let’s face it, I’m a light-weight. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to say the words. I was just waiting for the perfect time, waiting because I didn’t want to say it too soon. But it came out anyway.

Past the barriers of heart and mind. Past my barriers of past hurt and mistakes.

Past those barriers because it was all that was in my heart and all I could think about. Past because we will hurt each other but we will forgive. Past because for once I didn’t make a mistake when I said yes to a man.
