  • There are some times when I can smell Lesotho.
In the morning it is the strongest.
It seems to be a mix of
    sunny early morning,
    suntan lotion,
    and, and,
    something else.

I think of Lesotho more in the summer mornings,
    rising early,
    before 7am,
and the sun has already risen,
    it always takes me back.

    Actually that is wrong.
Its going outside before 7am, is what generates the smell.
It has to be the start of a sunny day,
when there has been just a little dew overnight.

It has to be quiet and
that I am the only one up and around.
    Otherwise it effects the smell.

The pollen from the flowers gently dancing in the air.
    I always pause,
    just for a split second,
to think of leaving my Lesotho home for school,
    or part of the walk,
    and I always smile.
Remembering the good not the bad.
It relaxes me into my day.
