She’s staring back at me
Her face soft, her hair fallen dead around her
I can see her heart beating faster through her shivering skin
Her full lips trembling
She lifts her unsteady hand to wipe away a tear
She is quiet – too quiet
I try to say something – to ease her pain
Not a word leaves my lips
I shudder as I see dark feelings unfolding in her forever changing eyes
And after for what seems like hours I finally get up to leave
At the door I turn around to see her one last time
Only to find nothing but an empty room with a mirror hanging from the cold wall
a single chair in front of it
And as if it never happened as if I never met her I take my leave
Away from the girl with the eyes that are shaped like her soul
