  • I stumbled upon Cowbird as I was putting together a dream blog on Blogger. I had been dream sharing with someone via email earlier in the year and we had a falling out but I was really into the process of remembering and logging my dreams from the night before each morning and wanted to continue it on my own. I had already cut and pasted my emailed dreams into Blogger and was continuing to log them as they came to me. Then a Facebook friend posted a link to Cowbird and after perusing a bit, I decided to make Cowbird my "best of" dream blog. And then I started reading people's stories and getting inspired and joining audiences. I don't want to call you out by name because I'm likely to forget someone important, and then we're back to the issue at hand. But it made me want to respond and write about my own similar or completely different experiences. And I liked that we couldn't directly contact each other, that we spoke of our admirations and "yeah I totally get it!"s through "loves" and "dedications" and "sprouts." My inbox started to swell with stories and I was overwhelmed, as several of you have spoken about, but also excited to follow everyone's paths.

Then, ironically, I stopped remembering my dreams.

But when I had a crisis a couple months ago, I came here to talk about it. I had demons in my guts that needed to be dealt with and I wasn't ready to let people in my physical life know about all of them. But *I* wanted to know more about them. So I've been purging here as I continue to understand things. And it's been really important, regardless of how many "loves" "dedications" and/or "sprouts" I have received. My ego gets off on those things, but only temporarily. I do get what you're saying, Alex. The insecure part of me Hrmphs a little sometimes when the number of people who "loved" my story doesn't match the number of people who read it. But then I think about why I'm here and what my purpose is.The real prize is my moments of clarity and discovery.
