  • More than once now, I have drilled a new villain through a scene in my brain. Then, that character becomes so soft and non-vile that I not only don't like them, but I also have no more respect for their actions.
How to get that character to actually be so despicable while remaining respectable as a villain? How to get the husband to have an affair with his secretary, not tell his wife yet remain realistic?
Some clever mechanism is what I think I am after. The trick is I want to love these characters, I want to appreciate their choices... not certain if this is my mechanism or a need I have in order to distaste their actions all the more. Time to get inside of their minds... perhaps making a hero into a villain is the best way to accomplish this. Occupy hero!

Ok, enough of this metalanguage.. time to write a scene.
    bam!
