  • Tagean (4) and Rowyn (2) are my legacy to the world. These are the the two sons I never thought I would have. Truth be told, I never thought I would ever have kids at all, for a while. Had just about gave up on the idea of being married even - when it happened!

Now that these two have arrived though I find parts of me changing. I used to not care what people did or didnt do. What politicians said or didnt say. None of it seemed to personally affect me really, didnt have a huge impact on my life so what did it matter?

Now though, I have something to fight for, to get angry and pissed about, if needs be. Now that I am a father, the playing field has changed. Now, what happens now, may affect their future. If it's beneficial then all good and well (but when do Politicians and lawmakers ever do anything beneficial for the ordinary people?) but if its not then the gloves are off!

Having been here for almost half a century, there's not much fight left in me - until it comes to my boys, to my family. I'm a survivor, I have and can endure so it's not for myself I will stand up and fight, it is for the future. For the future of my two sons, to do my damndest to ensure that they have as good a life as possible, free from all the crass stupidity that my generation, (and previous ones), have kept alive.

They are intelligent these two, very astute and quick to learn, so much so that my wife and I wonder where they got the brains from cos it sure as hell wasnt us!

I know they will do well, whatever they do. Who knows, one of them may even lead the country one day!? I only know that to get to where they are going, I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to give them the best possible start.

    Isn't that what dad's do?
