  • There is silence everywhere, all is still
stones shuffle as I walk along the dirt
I am moving slowly, cold from the chill
hearing all the screams of past souls hurt
    trembling, tired, overwhelming sadness
I will never understand the madness...
my finger traces the words on worn stone
silent prayers I say comfort me the most
fear creeps over me I am scared and alone
mass graves of souls side by side so close
rising trees reaching out from sacred ground
    final realization is so profound...
so many silent screams of voices left unheard
I vow to make sure future generations will always hear their unspoken word
