  • You can learn a lot about the Cowbird community hanging around the Topics tab in the black bar. At least I did, once I decided to burrow into some of that info.

This chart shows the 32 tags used most often in Cowbird stories. There are of course many more. I just looked at tags mentioned 300 times or more.

You see that Love gets top billing, by a wide margin. Hate doesn't show up until way down the list; it's used only 35 times.

Life leads the rest of the pack, followed by Family, Travel and Friendship. Death is about half as popular as Life and is in a dead heat with Art.

Right after Art comes Nature, and then the rest sort of trail off. One subject I'm quite interested in, Technology, only has been tagged 52 times.

Hope edges out Fear, and we have slightly more Dreams than Memories. Mother, (320 mentions) is apparently more popular than Father (275). All good.

Prose (tagged 42 times) is way less popular than Poetry (492 occurrences), yet we see more prose in Cowbird than poetry. Go figure.

Seems to me these 32 terms pretty well encapsulate the themes of most of what goes on in Cowbird (at least the several hundred stories I've seen). Altogether, they have been used 19,000 times. Given that there are about 26,000 Cowbird stories, these tags penetrate pretty far into our collective imagination.
