  • The hardest part about telling stories with images is avoiding hipster pretension. The temptation to choose a photo of a coffee cup sitting next to a plant on a balcony and ascribe it some obscure meaning, safe in the knowledge that our relativistic society protects my pretension from any serious analysis. Who can say this coffee cup can't symbolize the pain of exile?

    No one.
