There are people in this world that have never seen a roll of film. They have never opened the back of a camera and placed the film in, smiled, and closed it to start capturing memories.
Tired of Photoshop and Lightroom processing, last summer, I gathered all the toy film cameras I own and loaded them with film. I set out to capture my favorite season in the most magical and simple way I knew.
I learned that my favorite self portrait can be an out-of-focus, kissy-face, zero make-up one for the simple reason that it reminds me of the happiness of summer afternoons.
I learned that summer green is the best green there is.
And having a limited amount of frames available taught me that it's most important to photograph loved ones. Life gets its meaning from those who we get to share special times around.
I learned there are no ordinary moments.
Let's get home, find the film camera, and load it with the film that will capture 36 of those moments.
