  • Monday began with torrential rain! I worked, so this meant sitting inside a boutique...alone...all day. Needless to say, I played a lot of solitaire. By 5pm my brain had porridge-ized.

Fortunately, the sun broke through and greeted me as I locked up the shop. Feeling like the day had not been my own, I bolted for home with lots of energy to burn. I walked in the door, jumped into some pants, grabbed my camera, and hopped on my bike. Ahhh, now my day begins!

The cemetery, which doubles as a tree sanctuary, has been a favorite destination lately. After grabbing a muffin from my favorite bakery, my little feet lead me towards the cemetery. Whoosh! The city disappeared as I pedaled and photographed in peace among flowers, trees, creatures, and tranquil memorials.

On the ride home I realized my spirit was soaring. Just a little self-directed adventure and I felt all smiles. I hit a little downhill on one of my favorite streets. My hands slowly levitated from the handlebars, and with a great inhale I stretched them out to either side. Wings open, cruising: there was the ear-to-ear, sweetest-thing-in-the-cosmos, life-is-good kind of smile I'd been waiting for all day.
