  • I love the fact that I can find abient light in the outdoors
on the boat in a rocking bobble
with amber faded dock light to write
This is the first night of the whole trip I feel deeper.

I am waiting for that bird...
I've been trying to practice my calling...

It's so very warm sitting on an engine box after a seven hour run...

When you're a captain at sea
    you're alone,
heading out into the night afloat
    Your vessel is your movement,
    the journey at hand.
    Fearlessly into dark water
The lighthouse for the edge of the land.

Into a lightning storm, wind picking up
    and rippling
    The bold go it alone.
    Knowing the water.
The tow boats hours are late.

My Dad just woke up and with a start,
came out to piss off the dock in his flannel crab print pajama pants....
Afterward stood on the opposite engine box and said
"I was just dreaming a giant three legged horse was
trying to chew my leg off....that was weird."
And went back to his bed in the bow of the boat.

    It's raining now.
