  • Lately when I crawl out of bed in the morning, my bones pop and crackle like burning wrapping paper in a fireplace. My spine doesn't adapt well to California's snap change weather. It was 60° yesterday and now it's closer to 40°. I have a mild cold. Mixing Oxycontin with NyQuil is a terrible idea, so it's either dealing with my perpetual spine pain or stopping up my runny nose.

I hate being sick. My body already hurts enough without adding the seasonal aches and pains of cold symptoms to the mix. Josh slept on the couch last night; I hate it when he does that. I don't like people sacrificing their comfort/happiness for me. I also hate not sleeping in the same bed as my husband. It may or may not have something to do with the creepy floor to ceiling mirrors on his side of the bed.

I should be getting ready, but I think I'll stay in bed just a little bit longer. My bones aren't disagreeing.
