  • Folke is named after his dads grandfather, evidently also named Folke. He was a coaler who sailed the European ports during the Second World War. I told my son about this when we learned about steam ships at the maritime museum. He quickly decided that he wanted to be a coaler too. I tried to tell him that there really is no labour market for coalers these days.

The other day, we visited my mother in Grängesberg. We went to the museum of locomotives and saw the old steam engines. Folke soon located the coal and the furnace and started shoveling with his bare hands. He really wants to be a coaler, he told us. Nice to have a career goal in life, even if it is a bit utopian.
