  • Words near fail me as I attempt to respond to Jean Luc's epistle "Holding Your Breath." On a bright sunny morning that feels dark, cold and foreboding this message seemed a gift from the universe. My first response was a primal one. I pressed my hand against the monitor screen in the way I often touch the faces of my children; it is a touch of love, wonderment, protection, gratitude...everything a mother can convey silently and indelibly. Today, I can hold my breath just a little bit longer. Thank you, Jean Luc, the flowers are for you.
