  • Today would have been my mom and dad's 65th wedding anniversary but my mom passed away last July.
I am sure that my dad will still celebrate the day because it was the day they married and started their life together. A life that include raising three children and dancing.
They belonged to The Plaza Dance Club and did exhibition ballroom dancing. Their rehearsals were held in a school cafeteria.
As a child, I would sit under a cafeteria table and watch how smoothly they would dance with each other. I watched them for hours and never got tired of it. As I grew older and we would attend weddings and parties, my mom and dad would get up to dance and everyone else would stop to watch. They were the perfect pair and in my mind are still dancing.
