  • The protestors blocked the highway ramps with metal gates and big rig trucks from all over the country were stopped at the gates, banned from reaching the port. The drivers were standing around.

“Where’d they get those gates?” said one of the guys. “Incredible. I’m really impressed.”

“What do you guys think of all this?” I said to the guy.

“Oh, I think it’s great. Great, great, great. Lots of fun.”

    “Are you guys losing money?”

“Yes, we’re losing a little money, but every day it’s the same. Same, same, same. And this is something really different. I have never seen anything like this before. Very exciting. Exciting, exciting.”

    “Where’d you come from?”

“Ohhh, I come from New Jersey. Yes, I’ve driven here from New Jersey. Need to drop off my load at the port. But I don’t mind waiting a little bit. This is great fun! Fun, fun, fun.”
