  • Sometimes it seems to be a matter of perspective, where the latter determines the essence of things.
The collapse of the Twin Towers is something so far in time, and undefined. I remember that at that time I wondered about uprightness. How many towers can fall each day? They are often horizontal or transversal ones or they are made of a queue of people, and instead of huge offices they are like popular quarters. They have the same size, but with other alterations. Horizontal towers are works you've never seen before, always and obsessively devoted to Babel. Indeed, it would be even wrong to contrast uprightness with horizontality, that are determined in turn by a third perspective. I also think that the collapse of both towers, in short time from each other, has had something human, compassionate. They are like the old men that statistically die within two years after their wives' death. Like two suicide sisters, when the first one braces her sister up, and the second one honors her sister by her own death, jumping into space. Or like Romeo and Juliet, but made of mortar and cement or, in that case, of iron and glass.

Quante torri cadono ogni giorno?
