  • There once were two puppies named Max and Minx.

They'd been adopted from the local animal shelter and they were very loved.

Minx was still trying to train her ears to stand up straight.
When the left one would go up, the right one would flop down.
When the right one would go up, the left one would flop over.

Max was a little lover, but that didn't stop him from running headlong into trouble if he saw the opportunity.

One day, they went outside to find someone building something off the back deck.
Sawdust and dirt and mud to play in! Woohoo!

They jumped into the piles of sawdust, buried their noses in the dirt, and rolled in the mud. Then they ran back to their family to tell them how happy they were.
What joy it was to be a puppy!

Suddenly, they heard it, the "No" word. And what does she mean, we can't come inside like this? Like what?

Poor Max and Minx... How sad to see the cruel realities of life captured in the face of a puppy.
