  • Though I may not have realized it, I have accomplished a lot this past month towards my goal of getting better from PTSD and helping others get better from PTSD too.

    - Got to the bottom of guilt about not leaving an abusive relationship sooner
    - Asked for help and gave help
    - Strengthened my relationships with my friends and family
    - Paid it forward - did something special for people in my life
    - Made my first dentist appointment in over 10 years!
    - Battled a slump of depression by pushing myself to continue to do activities I enjoy and be social
    - Had a major break-through on my body image
    - Reached out to a Local Support Network to meet others with PTSD
    - Learned how to be and am practicing to be more assertive

I am certain that the work I'm doing to get better, to build resilience, is whooping some ass on my "Bad Guys" (symptoms, mental blockers, traps, and triggers) I am facing. And I am glad to see it has inspired other people too to battle their Bad Guys and swap ideas on how to work on common problems we face like hypervigilance, guilt, avoidance, dealing with conflict, and anxiety.

I can't wait to see what the rest of June and July brings.
