  • I was in trouble at school a lot.

I was on a field trip and it was hot out. I grew up in Southern California. So when it is 100 degrees, it feels like 100 degrees.

The teacher told me I had to put my shirt back on. Lots of the kids had their shirts off.

    I just kept asking, “why?”

    I didn’t know yet that I was a girl.
