  • We are all stading in line in the check-in compartment of the night train across Norway. As I approach the counter, people are queueing up behind me. In order not to slow things down, I start wondering if the manager will need my booking details, compartment number or my full name to find me on his printed list, and without any delay hand me the key to my rolling room on rails for the night.

But when I reach the counter, the young man in the dark blue uniform doesn't ask for anything spesific, so I look at him and say: - What would like from me?

    - Well, since you ask - what about a warm hug? He raises from his chair behind the desk and stretches his arms towards me with a big smile. I hear laughter from behind.

I wonder if I should travel more often.
